Brian Greene and Alan Alda were on Charlie Rose a while back to discuss the need for a large scale program such as the World Science Festival to give science a make-over and introduce it to people who might not otherwise be interested. This video is an excerpt from that program and sums up the motivations behind the Festival perfectly.
